I'm trying to fix several broken Debian
packages. The packages themselves are
not really broken. It is my installation
of these packages that is broken.
The packages are not at fault. It is me
that is at fault.
I've been reading this web page:
How to fix broken package
There's a lot of good information here.
While the web page is for Ubuntu, most
or all of it seems to apply to Debian
as well.
Here's a cheat sheet that I find helpful:
APT and Dpkg Quick Reference Sheet
I wish I had followed this cheat sheet to
the letter. Now I'm going to have to reinstall
Debian from scratch.
I'm sure there's a way to fix it but it is probably
too much time and effort for me. I have a new hard
drive that has been sitting around. I think it is
time to install Debian Squeeze on the new hard drive.
